Parker's Motel | Lincoln, NH 10/4/24 7:21 PM
A relative of mine wanted extra towels, so I offered to pick them off at the front office. I have never stayed in a motel in my life, but the introduction was perfectly dingy-- just like this fabric tissue box holder. Found inside of the lobby of a side road motel in Lincoln, NH, you can find this tissue holder to not only cushion your miniature butt, but also a miniature meltdown. To me, it surmises the concept of talk therapy. Sit down. Have a cry.
What a strange pairing of a dated living room seating with the utility of a tissue box. There is a flap that can inconspicuously conceal its true purpose, like a hero in disguise. Its entire context has questionable feng shui. It is placed on top of a stainless steel microwave accompanied by a bouquet of dried flowers and a brochure for the motel. I took this picture as the night clerk descended the basement stairs to pick up a fresh set of towels.
